Painting the Roses Red
Lately my inbox has been flooded with inquiries about logo, blog, and invitation design. Needless to say, I couldn’t be more thrilled and honored that so many of you are interested in my work! With all the new projects I’ve started, I have had little time to share my current designs here on Freutcake. Well today ladies and gentlemen I am breaking the silence and sharing one of those projects, and the story behind the design, with you.
When I first discussed blog & logo design with my clients Robin & Jackie of Two Chums, Robin offered to sketch one of her concepts for me. Sure! I love when clients can visually express what they are looking to achieve. Little did I know that Robin was quite the talented illustrator! Later, when the idea of using roses emerged, it was the obvious decision to have Robin illustrate the blooms. The next day I was painting her roses red and falling in love with the emerging Two Chums identity. Oh and yes, as you may have guessed, the Alice in Wonderland song was stuck in my head for days! The resulting design turned out to be one of my favorites to date and a lovely way of adding my client’s personal touch to the design process.
