Every couple of years I get the itch to cut my hair. It always happens the same way, I’m enjoying my long hair one day and the next I’m dying to cut it all off! Friday, I took one look at my crazy long ponytail and called the salon to make an appointment. “Cut it all off…well not all of it!”, was the first thing I said. It’s never a good idea to tell your hair stylist to cut it “all off” unless you really mean it. In fact I made sure it was still long enough to be curled, a very mandatory requirement in my book!

Brave lady! I used to do that in the middle of just about every winter. Now, it hasn’t been any shorter than mid shoulder blades in like 8 years. I do get the itch though….Maybe someday I will do it again. Cute cut, you chose! Did you have an inspiration or just describe what you wanted?
Hi Victoria! I showed him this image http://tinyurl.com/cjty3oh as (curled) inspiration. I said I wanted a blunt cut, no layers, and a little longer than a bob so that I could curl it!

I get the same way all the time. I did cut off 6 inches and I felt naked for a long while but it is a bit easier to take care of so I am glad that I did it. . I think your hair looks fab and it would no matter how long or short it is. You have great hair (runs in the family) and so does Lane. As long as you can pull it back, I think you will still like it no matter the length. I love your pictures with your blog. They always make me smile.

You look beautiful! I chopped my hair about 3 years ago and now have a longer bob. Sometimes I miss having long hair, but there’s something a little sassy about shorter hair that I love!

HAH! I just did it too! I must say, it is SO refreshing! The only think I’m worried about is my natural curl turning it into an afro…but I wont let that happen.

It’s true. My cut is about the same length as yours since I have the same rule about being able to curl my hair (you do it SO well!) – but I no longer feel like a mermaid with really long hair
