I think that adding red food coloring to a boxed mix would be interesting to try but I don’t think you will get the same result. This recipe only calls for a small amount of chocolate and apple cider vinegar which gives it the red velvet flavor. Red velvet is not a super chocolatey flavor. I hope you will try this recipe from scratch; I promise it is easy!
