Since the twins were born, I’ve been trying hard to simplify my life. At times, having children makes life a whole lot more simple because by nature it has to be. But one thing that is not always simple for me is finding time for myself to do the things I love. Over the last couple of years, I’ve gotten my routine down when it comes to making time for trying new recipes, photographing and writing for the blog. The days I get to spend in my kitchen are by far some of my favorites because it’s relaxing and fun. I throw on some music and take my time with food, it’s my favorite way to spend a day.
Recently, I partnered with Skinny Cow to try their new Salt-Kissed Caramel Greek Frozen Yogurt Bars. Like me, Skinny Cow has simplified their recipes to feature just ingredients you can feel good about, who has time for anything else? I sampled their new Salt-Kissed Caramel Greek Frozen Yogurt Bars while I worked last week to see what #TheNewSkinny was all about. Just me, my kitchen, a cupcake recipe and a Skinny Cow treat to hold me over so that I didn’t (literally) eat an entire mixer full of frosting. That’s another food-blogger trick, always have good snacks!
One of the hardest and most delicious parts of writing a food blog is, obviously, the food that is left over after I shoot. When it comes to sweets, and especially anything with caramel, I have such a weakness. These Skinny Cow bars were just the right amount of sweet and satisfying creamy indulgence with lots of salted caramel swirled through. I was honestly glad they sent me a couple of boxes, ha! And the best part is, I didn’t feel bad about eating one.
It can be hard to find time to ourselves, so when we do…I say it should really include a frozen treat and preferably one with lots of salted caramel. Yum!
