We take family photos once a year and always just before it’s time to mail out Christmas cards. Before the twins were born, Jason and I would take photos just the two of us, which felt more like engagement pictures than true family photos. Now with the babies it feels like we’ve reached official “family” status. This is our second Christmas with the twins and it feels so special to document this moment in our lives and how much they’ve grown from last year.
It’s amazing to look back at how small they were on last year’s Christmas card at only 4 months old! This year we shot with my friend Sadaf Murad who I’ve been wanting to have photograph our family for quite a while now. We decided on a hiking trail with plenty of trees and shady spots to shoot. IF YOU ARE FAMILY AND READING THIS…SPOILER ALERT! Here’s a look at this year’s Christmas Card (which I just mailed out yesterday, oops) and a few of my favorite photos from our shoot with Sadaf…
Those two teeth kill me! Millie was such an explorer that day, running off to pick up every acorn she spotted and never staying still long enough for us to huddle around her for a picture. What more can you expect from a 15 month old, right? As for Jackson, he wasn’t feeling especially smiley…so needless to say there was a lot of mandatory silly noises, tickles, and Daddy tossing to get us all through it. Luckily, it made for some of my favorite shots.
This last photo is probably my favorite from the entire day, just cuddling with my little love bugs. THANK YOU Sadaf for capturing our family and spending the afternoon chasing after two adventurous twins. xo
