I first spotted this recipe for baked cinnamon sugar donuts on Honey & Jam and couldn’t wait to try them! They offer all the deliciousness of fresh donuts without the frying…I’m sold. So this weekend I turned our kitchen into a mini donut shop and whipped out a dozen of these beauties. And since a donut just isn’t complete without coffee, I served them up with a chocolate coffee dipping sauce on the side. Gooey, light and totally scrumptious these donuts made for a perfect Sunday afternoon treat!
Baked Cinnamon Sugar Donuts via Honey & Jam recipe here
Chocolate & Coffee dipping sauce
3/4 cup cocoa powder
pinch kosher salt
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 cup strong coffee
1 tsp vanilla extract
Combine cocoa, salt, sugar & coffee in a saucepan, bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes stirring. Pour sauce in a bowl and stir in vanilla extract. Serve as dipping sauce for donuts!
