Dripp
For those who say that all of the best boutique coffee shops are in LA, I say, you haven’t been to Dripp. An industrially designed coffee shop serving up some of the best espresso drinks, Turkish coffee, and teas I’ve ever tasted and located in Chino Hills. Last week I stopped by Dripp for a chance to try a few of owner Rabih Sater’s favorite creations on and off of the menu.
While my Barista Aaron grinded beans, whipped up drinks and bruleed lattes…yes Dripp offers a crème brulee latte coined the BruLaLa…we chatted casually about the origin of the beans, good water temperatures and even Aaron’s recent Best Barista in the Inland Empire award which I embarrassingly asked about.
Naturally I couldn’t contain my excitement when Aaron graciously agreed to let me come behind the counter and learn how to pour the perfect cup of coffee for myself. About 5 minutes later and after a little spilled water, I had a new appreciation for the art of coffee making! Don’t be fooled by the photos…I was nervous.
As if the delicious drinks, fancy blowtorch and coffee lessons weren’t enough, I finished my visit enjoying one of Dripp’s ice cream sandwiches. Yes..that is the face of pure enjoyment seen below.
I left that day with a serious caffeine buzz, a huge smile on my face, and the hope that Rabih will someday open a Dripp in Pasadena. If he does I promise to be his very first customer!
My favorite things to order at Dripp:
1. The White Goat: deliciously spicy & creamy Turkish coffee latte. (not on the menu)
2. The BruLaLa: crème brulee latte topped with burnt sugar.
3. Hu-mina-tea: floral iced jasmine green tea with just a hint of non-dairy creamer.
4. Ice Cream sandwich: I ordered S’mores cookies and salted caramel ice cream.
