    Winter Citrus Recipes

I always think of Winter Citrus Recipes as a sort of respite from the winter season. A chance to feast on something light, refreshing and bright even in the coldest of months. Here in California we have had unusually warm weather and I can't help but think that winter has completely forgotten to hit Los Angeles. Not that I mind, this Spring weather is glorious and I am grateful for every mild day. Which brings me back to Winter Citrus. These warmer days have me even more eager to dive into recipes featuring citrus. From Blood Orange, to Satusumas and Kumquats; here are a few recipes that I'd like to try!

Blood-OrangeKale SaladKale & Blood Orange Salad : Eating a good kale salad always makes me feel a little proud of myself. I can't wait to try this recipe for kale topped in juicy slices of blood orange and shallot. (Recipe via A House in the Hills)

    margarita

Blood Orange Margaritas: Sound the alarm! This is all of my favorite things in one tall glass. Winter citrus, blood orange to be exact, and a margarita all in one. Arriba! I am absolutely mixing up a pitcher of these babies asap. (Recipe via Cookie and Kate)

    Satsuma

    satsuma gelee

Satsuma Gelee: What can I say, this Satsuma Gelee is absolutely gorgeous! Plus it's topped with coconut cream, how bad can that be? (Recipe via Inspiring the Everyday)

    sangria

Strawberry Satsuma Champagne Sangria: I honestly couldn't resist. Any sangria is good in my book and sounds like the perfect way to pretend it's summer even in January. (Recipe via How Sweet It Is)

    Kumquat

    kumquat

Lemon Coconut Macaroons with Candied Kumquat: If there's one thing I love more than citrus it's citrus with coconut. What a perfectly heavenly combination. (Recipe via Lemon Fire Brigade)

    kumquat

Kumquat Marmalade with Star Anise: I plan to smear this sweet marmalade on toast all winter long. This must taste like sunshine in a jar...and I plan to find out! (Recipe via Drizzle and Drip)

Everything looks amazing but alas it's 17 degrees and officially stick-to-your-ribs soup weather here in AL. Send some of that pretty California sunshine this way Leah!
