Eating healthy is hard work, am I right? Not only can it be time consuming, it also takes preparation which is where I usually fall short. If I haven't planned out weekly meals, shopped in advanced, and prepped for the week, its way too easy to skip breakfast, eat out for lunch or order a pizza for dinner. Who's with me?
While this post may not solve the lunch and dinner crisis...it sure will help with insuring you NEVER skip another breakfast! Spend 30 minutes prepping a week's worth of these Make-Ahead Freezer Smoothies this weekend and you'll be set for the whole week. Want to stay super organized? Write the smoothie name and date on the ziplock bag before popping your smoothie in the freezer. Breakfast solved!
Strawberry Oatmeal Breakfast Smoothie
Makes 16 oz
1 cup quartered strawberries
1 sliced banana
¼ cup raw almonds
½ cup old-fashioned oats
½-1 cup unsweetened almond milk (I use Almond Breeze)
Start by washing and slicing all fruit. Set aside. In a small ziplock sandwich bag combine all ingredients except for almond milk and store in the freezer. When ready to use, simple dump frozen smoothie ingredients into blender and top with almond milk. Blend until smooth, pour into a glass and enjoy!
This Strawberry Oatmeal Smoothie is extra filling from the oats and almonds and will keep you satisfied until lunch. Plus it's down right tasty.
Berry Antioxidant Smoothie
Makes 16 oz
½ cup blueberries (I used frozen)
½ cup raspberries
1 banana sliced
1 tablespoon chia seeds
1-2 tablespoon dried goji berries
½-1 cup unsweetened almond milk (I use Almond Breeze)
Start by washing the raspberries and slicing the banana. Set aside. In a small ziplock sandwich bag combine all ingredients except for almond milk and store in the freezer. When ready to use, simple dump frozen smoothie ingredients into blender and top with almond milk. Blend until smooth, pour into a glass and enjoy!
This is one of my favorite smoothies because of it's triple berry flavor! Blueberries, raspberries and chewy earthy goji berries make for a sweet and delicious smoothie packed with antioxidants. Not a bad way to start your day. Note: Resist the temptation to pre-blend your smoothies before freezing. It's much more difficult to blend a solid smoothie that's been frozen. Trust me, I speak from experience!
Do you have any good make ahead freezer smoothie recipes? What's your favorite smoothie combinations?

What an excellent idea to put everything in a baggie.
When I make a smoothie I do not have a set recipe usually I just pull out what is in the fridge with a couple of pantry add-ins. My favorite items(not all together) parsley, kale, spinach, blueberries, strawberries, bananas, peanut butter, cocoa powder, Chia seeds, flax seed meal, milk, etc.
Have a good evening!!

Thank you Janet! I love a good green smoothie as well. I plan to try freezing fresh spinach along with one of my fruit smoothies next! BTW my husband Jason LOVES peanut butter and cocoa powder in his acai berry smoothies. Tastes like dessert!

These all sound amazing! I try and keep spinach around and adding some to these will be a nice change!
