Carmela Ice Cream & Sorbet

2011 November 14

It’s a pretty well know fact among friends that Jason and I are huge ice cream lovers. (Jason even more so than myself!) This weekend, during our trip back home, we ate some of the best ice cream at Carmela Ice Cream and Sorbet in Pasadena, California. I can easily say that I have never tasted more uniquely flavored, artisanal ice cream. Among all of the lovely seasonal flavors, I fell head-over-heals in love with two in particular: Nutmeg and Salted Caramel. Jason, the traditionalist that he is, ordered a scoop of Brown Sugar Vanilla Bean and our nephew Devon enjoyed the Fresh Mint Cocoa Nib. The wildcard flavor that had my taste buds reeling: the Brown Butter Sage which turned out to be a sweet and savory masterpiece. Now I have one more reason to look forward to my visits back home!

I think I tried a sample of every flavor because I felt the same way!

I have been there and the mint was great. Not too creamy, and light.
