On Halloween night I'm all about easy entertaining with small bites and yummy drinks! My Halloween Charcuterie Board with Mini Meatball Skewers is a frightfully easy way to set out a hauntingly good spread without much effort.

    Halloween Charcuterie Board

To create a Halloween Charcuterie Board, first start with a creepy platter. In this case a vintage silver tray atop inexpensive black gauze sets the mood for the entire board. Spray painted black pumpkins, skeleton hands and dark purple hydrangea create a other-worldly feel.

    Witches' Broomstick Meatball Skewers

The centerpiece for my Halloween Charcuterie Board couldn't be more delicious. Witches' Broomstick Meatball Skewers are made by heating frozen mini-meatballs in barbecue sauce until warmed through and alternating them on wooden skewers with green olives and mini mozzarella balls. Green olives with red pimentos give the creepy look of eyeballs and the mozzarella pairs so nicely with the barbecue meatballs, it's a perfect couple of bites! I found these broomstick cocktail stirrers to use as my skewers in the Target dollar bin but you could always use plain bamboo skewers if you can't find something festive.

    Meats & Cheeses for Charcuterie

I love shopping at Trader Joe's for my meets and cheeses any time I create a charcuterie board because they always have a wide selection of seasonal cheeses and great meats for charcuterie. For the cheese, I chose a layered blue cheese & cheddar cheese because I liked the variety and the way it looked color-wise on my Halloween board. I try to chose items that stick to the Halloween theme in this case so everything is dark and moody. I also picked up a Spicy Charcuterie Assortment Pack at Trader Joe's that worked very nicely for this board. To finish it off, sweet dark blackberries, grapes and a variety of crackers.

To finish off my Halloween Charcuterie Board, a handful of plastic spiders did the trick to turn this board into a creepy feast. This entire board took me around 30 minutes to create, even with heating up the meatballs and making the skewers and if you have a helping hand or two you can whip it together in no time on Halloween night.
