What I Fed The Twins This Week

Happy Friday! Millie is obsessed with bees. Everything in her little world is now officially a bee from the smallest gnat to a raisin...BEE! Thankfully it hasn't kept her from eating her raisins, peas or anything else for that matter. Here's what I fed the twins this week...

Lunch: Tuna musubi with teriyaki dipping sauce. Peas and corn.
Notes: The twins eat musubi at the Farmer's Market so I thought, why not try to make it at home! Here's how I made them: I mix canned wild caught albacore tuna with a little mayo. Then grab a small handful of sticky sushi rice, fill it with tuna and roll into a ball. Shape into a triangle and wrap with a piece of dried seaweed. There are musubi molds that will make your life much easier but I just did it by hand! Jackson loved this lunch, Millie was ok with it.

What I Fed the Twins this Week

Breakfast: Buckwheat pancakes with syrup for dipping and cinnamon apples.
Notes: The twins are not huge apple eaters but I'm trying to change that with a sprinkle of cinnamon. Yum!

What I Fed the Twins this Week

Breakfast: Spinach and cheese scrambled eggs. Buttered, rolled tortillas, sliced tomatoes and clementines.
Notes: I like making breakfasts like this for the twins because it's something I would normally eat myself! The more I can get them used to eating like this the better, right? So far chopped fresh spinach mixed into scrambled eggs with cheese has been a success. Sometimes I do add a squirt of ketchup.

What I Fed the Twins this Week

Lunch: Pesto pasta with peas and asparagus. Sliced tomatoes with ranch for dipping.
Notes: This was my first time giving the twins ranch and (obviously) they loved it. Ranch, ketchup and barbecue sauce must just be written into the American DNA. Ha! As for the pasta, pesto is always a hit and mixing in small diced asparagus with the peas and pasta is a great way to pack it full of veggies.

What I Fed the Twins this Week

Dinner: Sweet potato quesadillas, black beans and sour cream.
Notes: We ate sweet potato and black bean tacos for dinner so this was the babies version of that! I took the cooked and seasoned sweet potato used in the tacos and smashed it into a puree then spread it inside of a flour tortilla. Sprinkle with shredded cheese, top with another tortilla and melt/crisp in a buttered skillet. Yum!

What did your little ones eat this week? Did you make any meals I should try? Also, here's a pinnable image of this week's menu. Happy weekend!

They all look delicious! Living in Japan I was happy to see your riceballs!❤ I find that peeling and steaming apples to soften them are easier for babies. My 2.5 year old still is hit or miss with raw apples.

Good tip! I will definitely try steaming them for the twins. Thanks! Ps. It's been a lifelong dream of mine to visit Japan. One day!

Hi Leah! This is Kayla, from SPHS, two years behind you. Heard of your site through your sister and have loved reading your posts. I'm so impressed with what your twins eat! I have an almost 21 month old and I would love for him to eat all of this! Thank you for all the great inspiration and look forward to seeing more!
