How to Make: A Bat Sweatshirt

Halloween is less than a week away and whether you already have your costume picked out or are still scrambling to find one, I have a simple idea to get you in the Halloween spirit. Earlier this week, I got crafty (yes, it happens once in a while) and came up with a simple tutorial for how to make your own Zoe Karssen inspired Bat Sweatshirt. Honestly, it was just too adorable (and easy) not to share with all of you! I might just wear it every day leading up to Halloween! Batty? I think not!

    Supplies You Will Need:
    Grey fleece sweatshirt
Black cotton fabric, cut into a 10x10" square
Iron on adhesive such as Heat n Bond Ultrahold (available at Michaels), cut into a 10x10" square
Bat Template, printed and cut out
    Fabric scissors
    Straight pins
    Iron
    * Pre-wash sweatshirt and black cotton fabric without fabric softeners before starting.

Step 1: Following manufacturers instructions for iron on adhesive, iron black cotton square and adhesive square together. Time will vary depending on brand. (2 seconds)
Step 2: Allow square to cool and pin cut-out bat template to square.

Step 3: Following outline of bat template, cut fabric square into bat shape. Remove pins and discard printed template.
Step 4: Carefully peel off iron-on adhesive paper backing.

Step 5: Center bat on sweatshirt, adhesive side down.
Step 6: Iron bat onto sweatshirt according to adhesive manufacturers time instructions (8 seconds).
Let cool and you're ready to wear!
