    DIY Holiday Photo Gift Tags

I can honestly say that I LOVE wrapping Christmas presents. Every year I create a sort of “theme” for my gifts which usually consists of three patterns or colors of coordinating wrapping paper, a couple of options for ribbon, and some sort of embellishment from candy canes to mini ornaments. One year I even tied tiny cookie cutters to each gift. (definitely a favorite)

This year, all of the presents under our tree will either be dressed in polka dots, gold glittered paper, or a teal and red combination. And each gift will have one of these holiday photo gift tags attached. Making your own gift tags is a simple way to customize Christmas gifts and it only takes a few minutes.

I shot photos of decorations I already had around my home like tiny gold jiggle bells, red ornaments, and candy canes. Then I gave them a  border that matched my wrapping paper palette and printed them out on photo paper using my Canon PIXMA printer.

You could also use black and white family photos to make your gifts even more personal. When Santa comes down the chimney this year, he’s sure to be impressed with your gift-wrapping skills!

Here’s what you need to make these DIY Holiday Photo Gift Tags:
    Printer
Photo Paper- Either 8.5x11” or 4x6” will work. (I used Canon Photo Paper Plus Glossy II)
Gift tag Template- download 8.5 x 11 template here or 4 x 6 template here
    Assorted Ribbons & Wrapping Paper
    Scissors
    Pen

Step 1: Add photo paper to your printer.
Step 2: Download the gift tag template (see above)
Step 3: Print the tags at 100% and cut them out with scissors.
Step 4: Write a message on the back of your photo tag and attach it to your gift.

This looks amazing! To me, presents are almost as much about the presentation as they are about what's inside (after all, if you do Christmas shopping right, they'll be under the tree for almost a month). I love the color scheme you have and the cohesiveness of the same cards! The cookie cutter idea was great too.

That is so true! Pretty presents under a tree are like icing on a cake! Yes, the cookie cutters were a hit. I may have to do it again next year.

How fun! I LOVE wrapping presents during the month of December, it's such a festive way to get a little bit of crafting in.

I agree! I never thought about gift wrapping as crafting but that MUST be why I love it so much. 😉
