Thank goodness for Fridays, long holiday weekends, and Lemon Peppermint Foot Scrub! Exfoliating sea salt, lemon peel, cooling peppermint, and sweet almond oil are the perfect way to buff your sandal clad summer feet right into fall flats condition. Have a great holiday weekend and make some home made scrub while you're at it. Your toes (and heels) will thank me!

Lemon Peppermint Foot Scrub- makes about 8oz
1 cup coarse sea salt
½ cup sweet almond oil
2 teaspoon lemon zest (zest from 1 lemon)
8 drops peppermint essential oil
1. Mix all ingredients in a small bowl and store in a clean 8oz jar.
2. To use: Rub into your wet feet with hands or pumice stone, paying extra attention to your heels. Rinse off with warm water, dry and apply lotion.
Notes on Storage: Make sure to store in a clean jar with a tight fitting lid. Because this scrub has no preservatives I recommend using it within a couple of weeks or keeping it in the refrigerator. Using a clean spoon instead of hands to scoop out scrub is also more sanitary.

This looks good enough to eat. I think it looks like lemon sorbet 🙂 Can only imagine how lovely it would be to use on my feet!

Wow!! That's absolutely splendiferous!! Was wondering how long can it be stored in a jar??
freutcake says
Thanks Melissa! Because it has no preservatives, I usually try to use up a batch within a couple of weeks. If you want to keep it longer, I suggest keeping it in the refrigerator.

Amazing! Where were you able to find the two oils?
freutcake says
I found both at my local health food store!

I made this tonight for 2 friends. I used what was leftover on myself. Oh my goodness. I love this so much! It feels wonderful and is so refreshing! I hope my friends love it as well.
I ended up using coconut oil. It was perfect!

How much does this make? I am making favors for a ladies retreat and think that a scrub in a little jar could be cute. I'm not sure how much I would need to make (37 ladies) and perhaps if you could reccomend a scrub that is budget friendly (it may be this one but I figured I'd ask in case there was one that's cheaper to make). Thanks so much!

Can you use lemon oil instead? And if so, how many drops?
Leah Bergman says
Absolutely! I love using lemon essential oil in scrubs. I would use 6-8 drops but it depends on your own personal preference and how strong you would like the scent.
Joey says
Enjoy reading your post, your picture are awesome. Can i use fine sea salt or rock salt too? 🙂
Leah Bergman says
I've never tried rock salt but you can use fine sea salt if you want a more gentle scrub.
Joey says
Is body scrub suitable for foot srcub too?
Leah Bergman says
Definitely!
