The day that Jason proposed to me is still one of the most special moments in my life. I can remember what I wore, the crispness of the fall air, the excitement of the moment, and the overwhelming emotion at being asked to marry my best friend. So when my sister's boyfriend asked me to be there and capture (in photos) the moment he planned to propose to my little sister, I was honored and nervous to be part of such a momentous day.
We met at Huntington Gardens on Wednesday for what she thought would be a morning of casual photos. Little did she know that I had been in on the engagement plans for weeks and nestled in Waseem's shorts pocket was a little teal box! Let's just say that the tears were flowing behind the camera as he got down on one knee in the Japanese Tea Garden and ask my sister to be his wife. I did my best to channel my inner Joanne Pio, not drop the camera, and capture every beautiful moment of Lane saying "yes"!
A big congratulation to Lane and Waseem! I am so happy for the two of you and can't wait to see you start your life together as husband and wife.
P.S. Don't be surprised if my Pinterest boards are flooded with wedding inspiration...I'm officially the Maid of Honor!
