Spring is just over a week away and I'm more than ready to open the windows, dust away the winter cobwebs, and refresh my home with a good dose of spring cleaning...and a little refreshing room spray.
Essential oils such as sweet orange, fresh lemon and relaxing lavender blend to make a lovely homemade and natural air freshener. Plus you can mix up a large batch of this room spray and leave small bottles in each room. Have you ever made homemade room spray? What are some of your favorite scent combinations?
To make your own Refreshing Room Spray you will need:
lemon essential oil
orange essential oil
lavender essential oil
vodka or rubbing alcohol
purified water
clean spray bottle-for storage
tip: alcohol helps mix the oil and water particles and results in the scent lasting longer in the air.
Directions:
1. In a liquid measuring cup combine ¼ cup of unflavored vodka, 40 drops of orange essential oil, 30 drops of lemon essential oil and 20 drops of lavender essential oil. Whisk together to blend. (these amounts can be increased for a stronger scent)
2. Mix in 1-cup of purified water and pour into clean spray bottle.
3. Shake well before spraying.
Note: Another lovely scent combination is vanilla and orange. Vanilla is one of the more expensive essential oils but well worth the investment if you are a fan of vanilla.

This is kind of perfect! We have that industrial type room spray and it gives me the worst headache - so scary! I need to make this natural version immediately

I know exactly what you mean! You will love the natural version. It's not going to be a potent as the artificial stuff but I actually think that's a good thing. 😉 Hope you like it!
