3-Ingredient Peanut Butter Apple Dip is the perfect sweet, creamy and healthy after school snack dip to serve with apple slices or your kid’s favorite snack foods!
In our house we are STILL getting back into the swing of things after a long winter break from school. For me personally, that means re-establishing good routines for the twins before and after school and coming up with new snacks and meals to keep them interested in their school lunches. Healthy After School Snacks for Kids
One of the easiest things for me to grab at the grocery store and have on hand in my fridge is Crunch Pak Apple Slices and Crunch Pak Foodles. They are perfect for both packed lunches and after school snacks! No browned apples in lunch boxes and they stay crunchy and fresh in the fridge anytime I want to add fruit to the twin’s plates. My twins LOVE the Foodles snack packs because they come with a variety of their favorite snacks: pretzels, apples, cheese and grapes and are Disney themed! One of my favorite ways to serve them is with this easy 3-Ingredient Peanut Butter Apple Dip.
Ingredients Needed for Peanut Butter Apple Dip
This dip couldn’t be faster to make! Here’s are the ingredients you’ll need:
Crunch Pak Apple Slices or Foodles Snack Packs- I personally like the Organic Crunch Pak apple slices because they don’t brown like apples tend to do if you slice them yourself.
Creamy Peanut Butter- I serve this dip as an after school snack so I don’t worry about nut allergies, however if you are sending it in school lunches and have a nut-free school you might try this recipe using Sunflower Butter!
Cream Cheese – the mix of cream cheese and peanut butter is so delicious and gives this dip a tangy but still sweet flavor similar to a healthy frosting!
Honey- I love using raw local honey in recipes for my twins. It’s such a great way to boost natural immune function and also adds so much flavor and sweetness.
How to Make Peanut Butter Apple Dip
- Set cream cheese out at room temperature for about 30 minutes prior to making this dip so that it’s easier to blend. This step is not necessary but recommended as it makes for a creamier dip.
- In a bowl combine cream cheese, peanut butter and honey.
- Beat with an electric hand mixer until light and fluffy.
- Serve in a small bowl surrounded by your child’s favorite snacks for dipping.
Ingredients for a Dipping Snack Board
We love this peanut butter dip because it pairs with so many delicious snacks and fruits for dipping! Here are a few of our favorites for including on an after school snack board along side the dip.
Animal Crackers – I buy the Organic Trader Joe’s Animal Crackers and we really like the flavor of them. They aren’t too sweet which is nice.
Crunch Pak Apple Slices – Because nothing goes better with peanut butter than apples!
Banana Chips – banana is another home run flavor pairing with peanut butter and these crunchy chips are healthy and delicious!
Strawberries – Easy to dip and always a kid-pleaser.
Pretzels – Pretzels come in many of the Foodles snack packs which the twins really enjoy.
Raisins – Not necessarily great for dipping but I like adding them to my snack boards.
Celery Sticks – Another great option if your kids like celery with peanut butter! Hello, ants on a log!
Whether you serve this dip as the center of an after school snack board or alongside a Foodles Snack Pack, your kids are bound to love it. Looking for more kid friendly recipes using apples? You might enjoy:
- Mini Apple Cheddar Muffins – preschool approved and delicious for a snack!
- Easy Cinnamaon Apple Bread – this is a great breakfast bread before school.
- Slow Cooker Apple Butter – delicious smeared on toast or waffles.
I hope you will pick up a bag of Organic Crunch Pak Apple Slices and make this dip for you family! If you do, leave me a comment on this post letting me know how they liked it. Happy Snacking.
