Pumpkin Spice Espresso Martini
If you enjoyed my Vanilla Cinnamon Espresso Martini, you will love this pumpkin spice rendition made with real pumpkin and fall spices. Not overly sweet but with just a enough pumpkin spice flavor, this martini is the boozy drink for any fans of the pumpkin spice latte.
Ingredients in a Pumpkin Spice Espresso Martini
- Vodka - Use your favorite vodka. Tip: keep your vodka stored in the freezer so that it's always ice cold for drinks.
- Coffee Liqueur - I use Kahlua because I usually have it in my liquor cabinet, however but you can find other coffee liqueurs that do not have a mix of rum in them such as Mr. Black Cold Brew Coffee Liqueur.
- Espresso - Brewed espresso or an espresso concentrate will work fine.
- Pumpkin Syrup - You can buy store bought pumpkin syrup or make your own with the recipe I share in this post.
- Pumpkin pie spice - I add a pinch of pie spice to the cocktail before shaking as well as for garnish.
Homemade Pumpkin Syrup
Homemade pumpkin simple syrup is easy enough to make and can be kept in the refrigerator and used for coffee drinks as well as cocktails. To make a homemade pumpkin syrup you will need sugar, water, pumpkin puree and vanilla.
Combine equal parts (½ cup each) light brown sugar, water, and pumpkin puree in a small sauce pan. Bring to a simmer and cook stirring for about 3 minutes until the brown sugar is completely dissolved. Stir in 1 teaspoon vanilla extract and remove from heat to cool.
This syrup can be kept in the refrigerator until ready to use.
Pumpkin Syrup Note: I did not add spices to the syrup for this recipe but rather to the cocktail itself as some readers may choose to use store-bought pumpkin syrup which will not be spiced. I will leave this up to your discretion, you can spice the syrup if you choose.
How to make a Pumpkin Spice Espresso Martini
-
- Chill martini glasses in the freezer until just before serving.
- In a cocktail shaker filled with ice; combine vodka, espresso, Kahlua, pumpkin syrup and a pinch of pumpkin pie spice.
