Happy Friday friends! I have so, so much news to share with you but before I burst at the seams with excitement, let me come right out and say…WE BOUGHT A HOUSE!
Nothing puts the pressure on a couple to buy their first home and move out of their teeny-tiny one bedroom apartment quite like finding out they are pregnant with twins! The last five months have been a non-stop house hunting, loan applying, escrow-closing (praise The Lord) roller coaster of stress and excitement.
Of course I am dying to share photos of our new soon-to-be home but that’s another post! Let’s just say we bought a “Freutcake Fixer-Upper.” It’s the little house that could and Jason and I are so proud (and a bit terrified) to finally become home owners. My favorite feature of the house so far? The crazy jungle-backyard filled with fruit trees that will probably take us years to landscape. Yes, fruit trees! Lemon, lime, orange, peach, avocado and the list goes on. I mean that pretty much qualifies as paradise in my book.
But until I get the chance to snap a few pictures of the house, and all of the renovations that we’ve started this week, I’m celebrating our home with a round of Raspberry Lemonade Spritzers. The perfect celebratory summer drink to help cool off and make a pregnant lady feel like she’s treating herself to a little bubbly while she picks out tile and drools over apron front farm sinks.
Oh, apron front single basin under-mount farm sinks…how beautiful and unreasonably expensive you are! This will be the torture of renovations I am certain. It’s vision versus reality. But isn’t that always the case?
Back to the serious stuff. At this moment all I feel is thankful, truly blessed, and excited about the crazy new changes that are happening in our lives. I can’t wait to share it all with you! Let the next chapter begin. Cheers!

- 6 oz San Pellegrino Limonata
- 1 Tbsp raspberry jam
- juice of 1/2 a lemon
- fresh raspberries for muddling & garnish
- lemon slices for garnish
- In a glass muddle 4 raspberries.
- Stir in 1 Tbsp raspberry jam and top with a splash of Limonata. Stir to combine.
- Fill glass with ice.
- Top with Limonata and fresh lemon juice.
- Garnish with more berries, lemon slices and mint.
